Welcome to the 1/17/18 edition of Las Vegas Locks!
Last night we finished 1-2. The Boston Celtics didn't have enough gas in their tanks to hand with Boogie and Brow last night to lose the Pelicans in overtime 116-113. Dallas Mavericks lost 105-102 to the Denver Nuggets but managed to cover their spread. Finally, Phoenix Suns and Devin Booker had an impressive comeback down 20 points after 3 quarters to lose 118-111 to the Portland Trail Blazers. Hopefully we get better results tonight.
Golden State Warriors (36-9) @ Chicago Bulls (17-27)
The Bulls seem to be the healthiest they have been all season with Nikola Mirotic back on the court. These past few weeks the Bulls have been playing well and covering their spreads frequently. Warriors come in to Chicago tonight after an emotional win against the Cleveland Cavaliers couple days ago in what will see a trap game. The next game on their minds are the Houston Rockets on 1/20. I expect Chicago to play hard at home and keep this game closer than most think. Obviously, we expect Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green to pull off the win simply off experience.
Denver Nuggets (23-21) @ Los Angeles Clippers (17-27)
The Clippers are simply rolling right now with a healthy Blake Griffin who is averaging 22.4 PPG, 7.6 rebounds per game, and a Lou Williams who is averaging 22.3 PPG and 5 assists per game, that's playing with a mission. Clippers have won 5 in a row and the last two on the road. The Nuggets just don't play well on the road and especially on a back-to-back losing 4 of their last road games. I just cant trust the Nuggets on the road against a red-hot Clippers team. This is my VEGAS LOCK OF THE DAY!
Washington Wizards (25-19) @ Charlotte Hornets (17-25)
Wizards -ML (money line)
The Washington Wizards lead the Hornets in almost every offensive category known to man. Charlotte last beat Washington back on Nov 22, 2017. Even though taking the Hornets would seem logical being that this game is in Charlotte, I expect the Wizards to come off their last game loss to Milwaukee with redemption and revenge on their minds. This is clearly be the John Wall vs Kemba Walker (who plays well at home) show with some Bradley Beal sprinkled in. The deciding factor in this game will be the play of the benches. I just love Kelly Oubre Jr. in this matchup and I think he will be the difference maker. This game should stay close as the line indicates but I expect the Wizards to pull off the upset.
Arkansas Razorbacks (12-5) @ Florida Gators (12-5)
College basketball can have some pretty easy games we can try and make some money one. The Gators have won 4 straight home games and have won the last seven meetings against Arkansas by at least 7 points. Florida's defense at home is good and one that the Razorbacks have not seen all season. Florida has lost some silly games this season but know they are in the thick of the SEC standings after watching Kentucky lose last night to South Carolina. I think Florida continues to roll at home and cover this somewhat of a small line.
